Major Paper: Functioning and Failing_ Prisoners of War in North and South Vietnam
Course Notes: The Vietnam War_ A View from Vietnam
This was a fourth year seminar regarding the Vietnam War. It focused particularly on the Vietnamese perspective, both North and South, and emphasized the agency possessed by the Vietnamese people throughout. For my final project I examined Prisoners of War (POWs) held by both the North and South Vietnamese. This essay examined the similarities and differences between the structures of capture and containment of POWs. This was a subject that I was interested by as in popular media there has been a lot of attention given to American POWs, but conversely there has been very limited attention given to Vietnamese POWs.
