POST-2352H: Political Imagination II
Instructor: Paul Mazzocchi
Course Code: POST 2352
When Taken: Winter 2022
Class Notes: Political Imagination 1.docx
Major Assignment: Political Imagination Final.docx
This was a continuation, somewhat, of political imagination I. In the second half of the course we examined more contemporary political theorists, and importantly included far more diversity of gender, race, nationality, and life experience. While the names of the theorists discussed in this class are less well-known, their views about utopia and dystopia were more vivid.
The discussions in the class were particularly important and very passionate. As the utopias described in the readings were more relatable dreams to my classmates and I, the discussions were often connected to personal experiences, and political beliefs. This was a good opportunity to have a debate with those who shared very different beliefs, and bond with those who possessed similar beliefs over mutual frustrations.
