Student Success Plan
A Student Success Plan is implemented when a student shows signs of struggling during their professional practice placement. This includes having 2 or more competencies marked as “Needing Improvement” or “Not Met,” having 1 or more bolded competencies marked the same way, or failing the midterm evaluation. It can also be initiated if concerns are raised by the preceptor, clinical supervisor, clinical faculty lead, or professional practice coordinator.
The process includes notifying the appropriate faculty members, completing a success plan template, and meeting with the student and preceptor to discuss performance and strategies for improvement. The student and preceptor will review the plan regularly, and the clinical supervisor will provide ongoing feedback. The plan will be adjusted as necessary, and further meetings will occur if the preceptor has continued concerns about the student’s progress.
