1 Your First Steps With Professional Practice 1 & 2
What are my first steps?
- All Semester 2 courses MUST be successfully passed in order to proceed into Professional Practice 2
- ALL NARS must be completed in order to attend Professional Practice 2
- All NARS need to be submitted by the due date outlined by the program area
- If the non-academic requirements (NARs) are not fulfilled on or before the deadline, we are not able to guarantee that students will receive a placement spot. If they miss the NARs deadline and do not receive a placement spot, they will be required to defer their clinical course and any co-requisites to the next semester. Additionally, while we will make every effort to support students, re-entry into the program will be dependent on space in the program/courses.
*Reminder: You are required to complete 1 placement consisting of 168 hours over 7 weeks. However, the Spring 2025 intake group will be combining there Professional Practice 1 and Professional Practice 2 placement hours in the Fall 2025 term meaning that students will need to complete 248 hours. Professional Practice 1 consists of 80 hours and Professional Practice 2 consists of 168 hours hours. All 248 hours need to be completed within the 7 week period in order to be successful in the PSW Program.
