Definitions Review

  • Cultural Appropriation: The inappropriate use of the customs, practices, or ideas of a community or culture by another group.
  • Intentional Microaggressions: Microaggressions which the perpetrator knows they are using with the intention of being hurtful.
  • Stereotyping: A commonly believed, but often generalized or inaccurate perception of type of person or thing.
  • Unintentional Microaggressions: Microaggressions that that perpetrator does not know they are using in conversations or interactions with the victim.
