2 Geography

Arddanann

Arddanann is a segmented landscape each with a different hub and location for each species of Elves to call home. This is the most established realm out of the three. So lets break the landscape down by species.

  • Angelves
    • The Angelves live in the oldest settlement in their realm. It’s Ancient! And what is their capital city, you might ask? Nobody actually asked… It is called Chathair Órga (Golden City). Which is ironic because it is not in fact, all golden.
    • Chathair Órga has little to no greenery or natural aspects left, instead it is a city made near entirely of marble and gold, with rivers of light magic flowing through them.
    • Chathair Órga is in the most north eastern point in the realm. Yes, if that is not made clear by the massive castle on all of the maps. I’d swear that they pay people to draw it obnoxiously massive… if I hadn’t actually seen that son of a bitch myself.
  • Flame Elves
    • The Flame Elves live in the volcanic highlands of the realm, KABOOM! They built settlements along the rivers of flame that run off from the volcano Maunto Hāsu (Mt Hearth).
    • Maunto Hāsu has settlements of Flame Elves all over its mountain side, including their capital city Moeru Yōsai (Burning Fortress).
  • Sea Elves
    • The Sea Elves live in the tropical feeling archipelago near the geographic south of the realm.
    • Their largest settlement is on the largest island of the archipelago, a city called Aai O Tala (City of Stories). They make lovely Kerith there.
  • Terra Elves
    • The Terra Elves live in the highest and the lowest points of the realm, ranging from occupying the mountain ranges to the geographic center of the realm.
    • The capital of Terra Elf society is in the heart of the realm’s tallest mountain and is called Qaleat Altharawat (The Citadel of Riches). So much wealth that they don’t care about just leaving it all lying around… A Kender’s dream, little buggers.
  • Wind Elves
    • Wait wait wait! Let me do this one. The Wind Elves also live in the central mountain range of the realm, but they have established treacherous hideaways for those who don’t like their own world enough to live in reality. They’re called monasteries and they’re deep in the exterior mountain valleys. Be respectful, you know I grew up under their religion.
    • Fine. What is often referred to as their capital city is just their largest monnasteryyyy called Rlung Srung Dgon Pa/ (The Wind Keeper Monastery).
  • Mist Elves
    • The Mist Elves built their cities in the thick mist covered forests to the northwest, the mist rolling off Maunto Hāsu.
    • Their capital city is simply titled, The Misty Keep.
  • Smith Elves
    • The Smith Elves live deep in the caverns under the realm and their cities are all built into the caves and internal structures of the mountain rages.
    • Their capital city and lowest point in the realm is called Hantverkarnas Hem (The Home of Artisans).
  • Shadow Elves
    • Their society lives closest to the Mist Elves in the thick forests of the northwest, but also occupy the swamp lands outside of the forests.
    • Their capital city is called Dinas y Cysgodion (The City of Shadows). Spooky. I know darling, I know.
  • Storm Elves
    • Storm Elf society does not have a permanent settlement. Instead, their cities are built on a storm cloud that moves around the realm.  I actually happen to think that this is super cool. But also very cold I hear.
    • Their capital city, and only city, is called Ilali yeeNdudumo (The Thunder Village).
  • Coast Elves
    • The Coast Elves live in small farming villages, spending their time dotting on the plains of the southwestern part of the region.
    • Their only proper city is El Puerto De La Huerta (The Orchard Port). It really does smell lovely there.
  • Nomad Elves
    • They live in a desert region that is at the most southwestern point of the realm. They only have one large city which acts as a trade outpost.
    • Their sole city, and therefore capital city, is called Tsöliin Boomt (The Desert Port).

Lárdanann

Lárdanann is home to The Girallon, the Kender, and the humans. The Girallon and humans take up their own distinct areas of Lárdanann, whereas the Kender tend to make home wherever they can throughout the realm.

  • Garillons
    • The Girallons live in an old growth redwood jungle. Where the wood seeps blood and the leaves cry out in pain *making spooky wind noises*. Don’t say things like that, you know that it’s a lovely place and the Girallons take lovely care of it.
    • Girallon’s live in treehouses connected by a network of bridges between trees. The trees are massive and sturdy, necessary to support their treetop society
    • There is a large central treehouse that functions as a gathering place for the Girallon.
    • The bases of some of the trees are still scorched or damaged from when the Tieflings razed Girallon society to the ground during their little tiff in the early years. Ah yes, many of them feel terribly about that you know. I know, that doesn’t change the effect it had on their society and population though.
    • The jungle floor is covered with plants and leaf litter
    • Bizarre creatures roam around minding their business. Some are very tasty to you while the rest think you’re the tasty one! You know what, that one is actually true.
  • Humans
    • Humans take up the western area of Lárdanann. The main focal point of their land is the abandoned castle which they surround with their dwellings.
    • The humans have a decent agricultural prowess and much of their land has become farm land that is surrounded by forests.
    • I have said it once, and I will say it again a hundred times over, humans are booooring, why do we even care about their land? NEEEXXXXTTTT!
  • Kender
    • Speaking of forests, the Kender spend a majority of their time on the move throughout these forests. They don’t necessarily have one large settlement within Lárdanann.
    • Their king lives in a cave in an undisclosed location, but not because its a secret, mostly because Kender are bad with directions. They know where their king is and can find him intuitively, but ask them for directions or to put it on the map and you’re shit out of luck. What silly little guys they are.

Bordanann

Bordanann is the dark and cavernous home to the Tieflings, although there is a settlement of Shadow Elves that reside in their own little nameless village located in the mushroom forest in the southern area of Bordanann

  • The Shadow Elves moved in quite some time ago and after a short adjustment period, everyone seems to be getting along down there… for the most part.

The vast majority of the land is filled with a large system of caves. The cave systems in Bordanann are used for many purposes such as living, travel, military, and trade. Since there is very little species and race variation within the realm, most Tiefling live in one large village.

  • The main village houses generations of families of Tiefling, and again, other than petty squabbles now and then, everyone usually lives alright together.
  • The main village resides underground, within the cave systems, however, some Tiefling prefer to live above ground, either near the Shadow Elves or among the mountains to the east. There is a large chunk of Bordanann that is uninhabitable.
  • One of the other main areas in the cave systems is the council area where elders come to discuss the most prevalent issues in Bordanann.
  • Are the rumours true? That the caves may also be a place for prisoners? Well there are a lot of hidden rooms within the caves… so far removed that nobody could hear you. So, its possible, but I will neither confirm or deny this as fact.
  • The caves do have several outposts, though, that are used for both spying and military use. The military outposts are used to prepare for battle or house weapons.
  • There are some outposts that are used specifically for underground trading. Similar to the black market? Hush now, Elf… but yes. You wont find these underground trading posts on a map, though, they are secret for a reason.

The realm is born in dark magic and actively reflects this throughout the darkness in the realm. The main sources of light within the realm come from the magical flora and fauna.

  • Within the villages, agriculturists cultivate these plants to create areas of full of dark magic, ironically providing an immense amount of light from the bioluminescence.

How rude of you to keep interrupting me.

Well, there is a difference here, do you see how I didn’t constantly and rudely interrupt you? Just added information constructively? Listen stupid face, don’t be stupid. We do this together, so together we shall do. Hmmm, eloquently said. Don’t make fun of me, you’re the one with the stupid face. Sure… Lets just keep going then.
