Making a Pressbooks Account and Cloning the Template
Throughout this template, we will make use of another Pressbook: The Pressbook User Guide to help you figure things out.
First, you should create your account.
- Go to the eCampusOntario Pressbooks login page.
- Click Sign in
- Click institutional log in
- Choose your institution “McMaster University”
- Log in using your McMaster credentials.
- Go to “My Books”
- To create your own copy of the My Learning Journey Pressbook, click Clone Book
- In “Source Book URL” put https://ecampusontario.pressbooks.pub/mcmasterlearningjourney and at the end of the URL add your own book’s title, and click “Clone Book”
It’d also be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the Authoring Dashboard. The next pages of the template are spaces for you to share your dreams, goals, thoughts, reflections, and the products of your work. Each page will give you some guidance as to what you might put in there and link to some help or examples. If you find yourself confused about what is a “part” vs. a “chapter” or how to rearrange posts, refer to the The Pressbook User Guide to help you figure things out.
