11 Working with Co-Authors
Although only one presenter typically takes the stage during an oral presentation or a facilitated poster session, your research may have multiple authors with different degrees of involvement in planning your project, carrying your research out, and analyzing your findings. These contributions are typically reflected by authorship, although disciplinary norms vary about what type of contribution merits inclusion.
In any case, if you have co-authors or collaborators in the research you would like to share, all of these colleagues should have a chance to review your abstract before you submit and provide feedback.
