“Publish or perish” is a common refrain in academia, but the process of actually getting your work in print (or online) can feel opaque and overwhelming for many graduate students. Publishing, though, is more than a CV line: it is an opportunity to share your ideas in a public forum, and to contribute to public debate and conversation in your field of study.
