Publishing Your Work

Section Written by: Alice Cavanaugh

“Publish or perish” is a common refrain in academia, but the process of actually getting your work in print (or online) can feel opaque and overwhelming for many graduate students. Publishing, though, is more than a CV line: it is an opportunity to share your ideas in a public forum, and to contribute to public debate and conversation in your field of study. The advice and resources in this section of the Graduate Communications Toolkit are designed to support you in submitting your work for publication: from what to do with your first germs of an idea to the process of revising and resubmitting your work in response to reviewer feedback.
