SMART Goals

SMART GOAL 1:

I will achieve an average of at least 85% across all five courses during my second semester of nursing school (WI 2025), by April 4th, 2024. This goal will be achievable through hard work and dedication to my studies. While it will require immense effort, my transcript from UBC demonstrates that this goal is within my academic capabilities.

SMART GOAL 2:

By the end of my first year clinical (NURS 1020H), I will be able to confidently and correctly perform a head-to-toe assessment on patients. My ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment will be evaluated by my clinical instructor. I will ensure that I achieve this goal by regularly practicing the skill in lab and reaching out for support when needed.

SMART GOAL 3:

By the third week of my clinical placement (NURS 1020H), I will understand how to access all available resources to student nurses. For example, I will understand the procedure for requesting time to practice a skill in the simulation lab as well as who to contact for extra support during my clinical placement. I will achieve this goal my reviewing the syllabus and asking any necessary questions of my clinical instructor.
