Part-Time Students

In some cases, it is possible to pursue the MA program on a part-time basis.

Tuition Fees

Per the regulations of the School of Graduate Studies, you’re required to enrol and pay fees (at the part-time rate) every semester until you complete the program, whether or not you’re taking a course that semester.

Students who switch from full-time to part-time studies must continue to pay tuition at the full-time rate.

Funding

Part-time students are not offered scholarship funding and are not offered a TA position. Occasionally additional TA positions become available, in which case part-time students are eligible to apply.

Requirements and Time to Completion

The program requirements are the same for part-time students as full-time students. You may take your courses in any order. We recommend completing the required courses GendrSt 700 and GendrSt 701 before beginning your MRP research.

Per the regulations of the School of Graduate Studies, part-time students must complete degree requirements within five years of starting the program.
