Chapter 7: Cardiovascular System

At the heart of any great band is a talented drummer, beating in time to orchestrate the flow of all the other instruments, maintain rhythm, and keep the other band members synchronized. The human body is equipped with its own drummer; the heart! In this chapter, we’ll dive into the life-sustaining cardiovascular system, exploring each pump of the heart and the vast network of blood vessels which sustain life through the transfer of nutrients and the exchange of  waste.

  • Identify the mediastinum and it’s relevance to the heart
  • Briefly explain cardiac conduction
  • Identify the vasculature of the heart
  • Describe the anatomy of vasculature
