Land Affirmation

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather at Loyalist College is the territory of the Wendat, Anishnaabeg, and Haudenosaunee Peoples, directly adjacent to our neighbours in the Kanien’keha:ka community of Tyendinaga. We are thankful and fortunate to be able to live and work on this land.

Loyalist College is built upon the lands governed by the Dish with One Spoon wampum agreement. We affirm and thank the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabeg, Huron-Wendat, and Mississauga nations for their continued caretaking of the land. We offer respect to Indigenous people from all nations who call this area home, and we honour traditional knowledge keepers, past, present, and future.

Members of our community who would like to learn more are encouraged to connect with the team in Tsi Titewaya’taró:roks; the Indigenous Resource Centre located at Loyalist College.
