Lisa Bauman, BA, CDP, MEd

Lisa joined Conestoga College in 2008 as an Employment Facilitator, Career and Work Coach, and Essential Skills Specialist for the School of Career and Academic Access. In 2012, she moved into the Learning Commons, where she took on the roles of Peer Services Consultant and Peer Services Coordinator, hiring, training, and supporting Peer Tutors. In 2017, Lisa joined the administration team as Program Manager for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies, supporting 150+ faculty and senior administration with curricular and operational activities while supporting a growing Career Development team.
In addition to all these endeavours, Lisa began teaching part-time in 2016; during this time, she authored four career development courses and moved to full-time faculty in the Spring of 2023. Lisa teaches career development courses for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies and courses in the Career Development Practitioner program for the School of Business. Lisa is a consummate professional who enjoys taking on new challenges. In July of 2023, she created the podcast Let’s Talk Careers, where she and a colleague interview various guests on their career journeys. In May 2024, Lisa and her production team were thrilled when Let’s Talk Careers won a Communicator Award, Series-Educational Distinction. Lisa also podcasted “live” when interviewing CBC KW’s Food Columnist Andrew Coppolino, stretching her podcasting skills further by interviewing with a live audience.
Lisa has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from York University, a Post Graduate Certificate in Career Development Practitioner from Conestoga College and a Master of Adult Education, Specialist Adult, Community and Higher Education from the University of Calgary. Married for 20 years, she and her husband have raised three wonderful kiddos (now adults!) and her beloved dog Luna.
