This initial series was put together by a small but mighty team. Below is some information about the contributors.
Russell Nahdee

Russell is the Indigenous Learning Specialist at the Office of Open Learning, University of Windsor. He also worked as the Coordinator of the Aboriginal Education Centre-Turtle Island at the University of Windsor for over 20 years. He is involved with several Aboriginal research projects, community boards, and planning committees. He is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Windsor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology and has experience teaching at both college and university levels. Research activities include collaborative partnerships with principal researchers on research projects with First Nations communities emphasizing transferable skills and the importance of sharing information and research data with the First Nation. He is a former committee member of the Faculty of Arts Humanities and Social Science, Indigenous Scholars Group and is the previous Co-Chair of the Council of Ontario Universities Reference Group on Aboriginal Education (COU-RGAE).
Lorie Stolarchuk

Lorna (Lorie) Stolarchuk (retired July 2024) was formerly a Learning Specialist – Online Assessment Specialist with the Office of Open Learning (OOL), and before that, the Learning Technologies Educational Consultant for the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL). Lorie had over 16 years of experience as an Educational Developer. Lorie’s experience included supporting scholarly and evidence-based approaches to online assessment of learning and instructional design, especially for online and hybrid/blended courses, and supporting instructors and graduate students in utilizing learning technologies such as the LMS. Lorie completed her BCS (Computer Science) and MBA at the University of Windsor and has attained additional post-secondary teaching credentials, including the Foundations of University Teaching Certificate (UTC), Facilitators Development Workshop (FDW), and several LMS Administrator certificates. Lorie also co-authored and produced several Indigenous videos on Indigenous pedagogies and this land acknowledgement series.
Shreyas Tambe

Shreyas is a multimedia designer with the Office of Open Learning. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Communications, Media and Film, from the University of Windsor. He joined OOL as a part-time student support in 2017, and completed his tenure with the team in early 2023. Even though he has moved cities for other opportunities, his belief in what OOL does has stayed strong. Currently an external consultant with the office, he enjoys pushing the creative envelope and imbibing the latest technologies into his video production and graphic design work.
