H5P is a free and open-source content collaboration framework based on JavaScript. H5P is an abbreviation for HTML5 Package. H5P works independently of delivery platform and plays well on any device. All that is needed to view or edit H5P content is a web browser.

Anyone with a valid Ontario University or College email can sign up at h5pstudio.ecampusontario.ca to create their own H5P interactive content.

There are many kinds of interactive content that can be created with H5P, including videos, presentations, quizzes, timelines, and more. Once it is created, H5P interactive content can be copied, embedded, reused, and shared.

This open-source book provides some examples of how interactive content created with H5P could be used for courses with laboratory components.
