Student Experience
Community Consultancy
This course, which is restricted to full-time students by an application process, provides students with the opportunity to help real organizations in our local community solve problems or realize opportunities. The consultancy allows students to gain real-world employability skills and to build a portfolio. The course allows clients to add value to their organization while contributing to the community. Students engage in a selection process to obtain a position in the course. The course is restricted to full-time students in the Winter term.
Case Competition
Students have the opportunity to engage in the HRPA Case Competition. The team reads, analyzes and develops a response strategy. The final strategy and recommendations are presented to the HRPA judges. The panel of judges comprises senior HR professionals who can review and provide student feedback. Students can engage with complex issues and professionals to gain skills outside the traditional classroom.
Joint Program Events
Faculty in the Operations Management and Human Resources programs jointly host an evening of networking and education, teaching students how to be successful after graduation. The event includes a panel discussion comprised of employers, alumni, and recruiters who provide strategic advice for succeeding in the job market post-graduation.
