Build on your diploma in human resources with this human resources advanced diploma program. You’ll acquire and demonstrate industry-standard skills and dive deeper into core HR functional areas: recruitment and selection, training and development, human resources planning, occupational health and safety, HR management, compensation and benefits, and labour relations. You’ll also have the opportunity to apply to further develop your consulting skills with the option of substituting two courses for the intensive community consultancy program, working with live clients to solve real problems.
Unique Program Experiences
- SILex opportunities: Every student in this program will have the opportunity to conduct internal audits of Fanshawe’s Health and Safety. - Safety Audit
- Participate in the HR Club
- Guest Speakers: Threads of Life, Industry Professionals, HRPA (Human Resources Professional Association).
- HRPA Student Case Competition: Twenty teams from across Ontario put their HR knowledge to the test to tackle a real-life business and HR situation. This year’s competition theme was equity, diversity and inclusion, with the case study focusing on accommodating an employee with Autism. The students were given two hours to read, analyze, prepare a PowerPoint, and present their solutions. It was the first time this group of students had competed in the competition, and they did an amazing job representing Fanshawe College.
Toolkit
The technology and tools that students will take away from the program are as follows:
- Interview skills (interviewing different departments throughout Fanshawe during the Safety Audit)
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Mediation and conflict resolution skills
- Project management skills

In only two semesters, earn Fanshawe’s Business Administration – Human Resources Advanced Diploma through full-time or part-time online study. Get the most recognition for your previous education with the maximum credit transfer using courses you completed in your diploma. Gain greater access to experiential learning opportunities such as working on live client projects through Community Consultancy, Safety Audits and direct engagement with HR professionals in the industry. Complete the last three Certified Human Resources Professional credits to be eligible to achieve the CHRP designation, and lastly, graduate with the opportunity to continue with the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resources Management) Degree Program, part-time online, full-time online, or full-time in person.
After completion of this program, you will have completed all 9 of the CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) courses.
