Unique Program Experiences

Organizations and economies around the world are facing increased competition and continuous disruption from technology. To maintain their viability, they have to accelerate the pace of change through their projects. Project management defines how organizations perform this change to meet their goals and deliver future value to the organization. Project management expertise is essential in almost all industries. If you’re interested in joining the expected 88 million people working in project management by 2027, take a closer look at this program.

Program Highlights and an Online Option

You will be studying at a graduate certificate level in a field that is in demand and relevant to today’s rapidly changing business environment.

You’ll have the flexibility to take the program full-time in the classroom, or full-time online in two semesters. The full-time in the classroom option has three intakes per year. You can also take the program part-time online with asynchronous delivery so your course work will not conflict with your current employment schedule. Some students use a combination of these options.

This learning experience will provide you with the skills to:

  • Identify and articulate project objectives and detailed project requirements.
  • Understand and use fundamental business concepts and tools to ensure project success.
  • Initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control a project.
  • Manage project: stakeholders, scope, costs, schedules, risk and quality.
  • Use Agile techniques to deliver projects.
  • Respond effectively to internal and external changes to projects.

A SILEx opportunity, a capstone course that focuses on the recovery of projects; you can find out more about our SILEx experience at SILEx and Job Skills for the Future.

Your LinkedIn profile will be a priority for your project management career. One of your goals will be leveraging your access to LinkedIn Learning to identify and obtain project related micro credentials for your profile.

Upon completion of the first semester, you’ll be eligible to pursue the Project Management Institute (PMI) Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation or the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (after completing the prescribed period of professional project management experience).

Your Future Career

Based on the PMI’s most recent Talent Gap report, “2.3 million people will be needed each year to fill all of the project management oriented positions expected to open by 2030”. The top three skills that provide a career advantage to project managers to help make this happen are: communication, problem-solving, and collaborative leadership.
