This course expanded on my understanding of the nursing process, allowing me to apply it at a novice level across various healthcare settings for clients facing diverse health challenges and functional disabilities. I engaged deeply with care planning and evaluation, which helped me grasp the connections between medical and nursing diagnoses, as well as the significance of assessment findings in developing effective nursing diagnoses.
I integrated theoretical foundations with practical principles and critical decision-making skills essential for nursing practice. Analyzing concepts and clinical manifestations related to pathophysiological processes deepened my understanding of illness and disease.
Applying the nursing process in simulated scenarios allowed me to interpret and manage client responses to actual or potential health problems. I also assessed various factors, including ethnicity, culture, spirituality, gender, and health literacy, when formulating nursing diagnoses, goals, and interventions tailored to individual simulated clients.
Collaboration was a key focus; I learned to implement effective interpersonal and interprofessional communication to support the specific needs of simulated clients and their significant others, promoting overall health outcomes. Utilizing evidence-based nursing knowledge from relevant research helped me enhance the quality of simulated nursing care provided.
Throughout the course, I demonstrated accountability for my actions and embraced my growth as both an adult learner and a developing professional, laying a strong foundation for my future nursing practice.
