Dear Susan:

I have always admired the work the Terry Fox Foundation continually puts in to help with cancer research and it’s an honour for me to be able help and participate in such a good cause. I couldn’t thank you enough for giving me the chance to be part of something so important.

My work supervisor has recently adjusted my work schedule, and I am now required to work on the day of the run. I have attempted to find a co-worker who is willing and able to switch shifts with me so I can attend the run, but due to covid illnesses and a shortage of workers, I have sadly been unsuccessful at switching shifts. Since I was unable to find any other alternatives, I will not be able to volunteer this year.

Although I won’t be able to assist this year, I know a few people that would love to help out in my place. If you are interested, I can provide you with their contact information for you to set up a convenient time to meet with them.

I know you’ll organize the run in a great way, as you have done every other year. The Terry Fox Foundation is lucky to have a coordinator like you. Good luck on the run.
