NRSG 76- Nursing Care for Families

This course provided me with the theoretical foundation to deliver nursing care to families, focusing on topics such as the childbearing family, families in crisis, and common health problems in childhood. Throughout the course, I integrated essential concepts of professional responsibility, accountability, ethical practice, and service to the public.

I learned to apply knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan using the nursing process, which enabled me to address the diverse needs of individuals and families. The course also emphasized the exploration of ethical and legal issues impacting family care, enhancing my understanding of the responsibilities and complexities involved.

I gained insights into the cultural, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of families experiencing illness and hospitalization, allowing me to provide more holistic care. Utilizing evidence-informed practice, I applied the nursing process effectively in supporting families during transitions.

Furthermore, I learned to integrate health promotion strategies tailored to individuals across different life stages and analyzed the roles and functions of community resources that contribute to promoting, maintaining, and restoring health. Overall, this course deepened my understanding of family-centered nursing care and prepared me for practical application in diverse healthcare settings.
