About Me
Welcome to my nursing portfolio! My name is Modupe Jegede. I had my PSW training at the City Adult Learning Center (TDSB) and immediately after graduation started working. Before coming to Canada, I had no idea about caring for elderly citizens and the program was an eye-opener for me. I was employed immediately after graduation. I then realized that I have a passion for caring. I love academics and I believe that education is possible for all regardless of age. I also derive immense joy from working in the healthcare sector. All these factors further contributed to the resolution of becoming a nurse. I have made an objective to learn more about healthcare and give back to society in terms of making sustainable healthcare plans for families and individuals I applied to Durham College for a full-time.
I consolidated at Lakeridge Garden long-term care and graduated as a Registered Practical Nurse in 2024. I am presently studying for a BScN in my first year at Trent University. The goal of this portfolio is to serve as a reflection tool for me, allowing me to identify my strengths and areas for improvement while also monitoring my progress and accomplishments. As I continue my studies, I am excited about the future and the professional opportunities that await. I am eager to expand my leadership abilities, contribute to healthcare policy and education, and ultimately make a greater impact on patient outcomes. Most of all, I look forward to being a more advanced and competent nurse, one who is well-equipped to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care in a diverse and ever-changing healthcare environment. I would appreciate you taking the time to read about my nursing career.
