Artifact/Evidence 3- Indigenous Perspective Designation (IPD)

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Indigenous Perspective Designation (IPD) is the final artifact I chose to share, and in my opinion, it is the most relevant to my future practice as a nurse. This designation represents my commitment to understanding and respecting the diverse cultural backgrounds and traditions of Indigenous communities across Canada. By pursuing this educational opportunity, I have reinforced my existing knowledge and gained new insights into Indigenous perspectives, healthcare practices, and the unique challenges faced by these communities.

This certification demonstrates my competency in providing culturally sensitive care and my willingness to work effectively within diverse communities as a healthcare provider. It highlights my dedication to not only treating patients with respect but also engaging in ongoing learning to improve my ability to care for individuals from all walks of life. As a nurse, I understand the importance of cultural humility and am committed to providing care that is informed by a deep respect for the cultural and historical contexts that shape health and wellbeing.
