Understanding Your Course Code

Your Course Code contains a lot of information that can tell you about your course.

There are 4 sections to your code:

Component 1 – XXXX

The first section is 4 letters that indicate the subject area. INFO or MATH, for example.

Component 2 – ####

This is followed by 4 numbers that tell you which course it is.

Component 3 – ##

*Note: this component is only applicable sometimes and may not show depending on the course*

This is your section number. It tells you which sections of this particular course you are teaching and your delivery method.

##OL – Online Section

##PT – Part-Time Section

You must include this number when communicating with support staff, as we won’t be able to assist you unless we know which section your class is.

Component 4 – ##X

This is your term code. It lets you know which academic term the course is offered in, and this becomes important if you teach the same course multiple times or are looking for a past period.

XX = Year the course runs in

F = Fall

W = Winter

S = Summer

Example: 25F = Fall of 2025
