Professionalism Self-Assessment
An important task in preparing for your first level of field placement is to reflect on your own perspective of professionalism. Ask yourself questions such as:
- What does professionalism mean to you?
- Where are you currently with regards to professional behaviour in the workplace?
- How do you think you need to improve your professionalism?

This self-assessment will help you understand where you are currently with regards to professionalism in Child and Youth Care and give you a starting place for understanding where you need to go. Be sure to answer the final question so you have a record of what you would like to focus on for areas of improvement when working on your professional development plan later in the module.
