SMART Goals
SMART Goals help individuals reach a personal achievement relevant to them within a given time frame. SMART Goals are defined as specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely.
Goal #1:
I will become confident in performing basic nursing skills when assessing a patient, i.e., taking vitals, performing inspection, etc., both in front of my peers in a lab setting and clinical setting with a ‘real’ patient, by April 4th, 2025.
Goal #2:
In trying to juggle a regular course load and beginning clinicals for the first time, I will use a calendar to document due dates and appointments, as well as schedule study time so that I can achieve an average of above 85% for the semester. At the end of each week until April 4th, 2025, I will reevaluate what is and what isn’t working, adjusting my routine to meet my desired academic average.
Goal #3:
At the start of the winter semester, January 6th, 2025, I will create a self-care plan to adhere to each week (i.e., implementing physical activity, healthy sleep routine, meal prep, study vs rest schedule, time with friends) to reduce the amount of stress and balance my time more effectively compared to the fall 2024 semester.
