Summary

In this module, we have learned about the importance of Land and its impact on identity. We have explored the differences between Eurocentric and Indigenous conceptions of identity and land, and how these influence us in what is today Canada. We have explored why it is important to understand your relationship with land when working with Indigenous subject matter, and how this can improve your practice in your personal and professional life.

Land is ultimately a teacher, which can help you to grow in your understanding or your studies, work, and most importantly self. When you understand your identity in relation to the Land, you can begin to situate yourself effectively within Indigenous worldviews.
