Really Real Resources

Really Real Resources is a collection of “high quality stock photography showing real lives as they really are”.[1] These resources include diverse photos that image a variety of vulnerabilities, such as disability, aging, poverty, and more.

“Our aim is to better represent vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in the media. We want to challenge stigma and breakdown prejudice. Out stock photography can be accessed by all but you will need to register with us first. Registration is free and noncommittal. This is to protect the people that feature in our images.”1

You will need to register with Really Real Images to view their content. Please see the below statement from their website:

“As our images feature some of the most vulnerable in society, we have felt the need to strike a balance in terms of accessibility and that means access is through registration. However, once granted access, it will then be very easy for you to both search and then purchase our remarkable images on our own e-commerce platform.

Registration is free and requires no financial commitment.

Please accept our heartfelt thanks for your interest in the unique archive we are building at Really Real Resources.”[2]

  • While it is important to read and understand the entirety of the Terms and conditions, Section 5: Restrictions and Obligations is of particular importance when considering usage of these images.
    • For education purposes, please note in particular Section 5.4:
      • “Images must not be used in comps, presentations or layouts, nor may Images be used in slide projections or other presentations, unless expressly agreed by us in writing.”[3]
