Overview

Burst is a collection of photos powered by Shopify. Burst is committed to inclusion, and strives “to create an image library that shows an authentic representation of the world we live in today – on that is diverse and inclusive of underrepresented groups.

Models have the option to self-identify at the time of the photoshoot, giving them control of search terms associated with their images. Burst’s self-identification program ensures accuracy within race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, and gender terms. This glossary of terms continues to grow based on feedback from our models.

Burst is committed to growing our image library and collections with inclusiveness and diversity as a top consideration.”^[1]

The images provided are licensed under a variety of licenses, including Creative Commons Public Domain (CCO) and nonexecutive licenses.

• CCO content is free to be adapted & used (copied, reproduced, and modified) without attributing the original author or source, as long as it is done within the Burst Terms of Service.^[2]
• Licensed content can adapted and used for free “for commercial and noncommercial purposes”, as long as it is not offered for sale in any way. Attribution to the original author or source is not required, but is encouraged.¹

Please note that for all content including identifiable person(s), we are asked to ensure that we use the content in a way that would not damage that person’s reputation or otherwise embarrass them.¹
