Having served with excellence, as the Associate Dean for ICET since January 2009, Dr. Pesikan brings a tremendous portfolio of experience to the Dean’s role of the School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science (SETAS), for the academic year 2024-2025. Along with the support of a talented team of faculty and support staff, he has established a culture of academic excellence, collegiality, and program innovation, including the implementation of cutting-edge academic programs such as the advanced diploma in Artificial Intelligence, and post-graduate certificate programs in Cybersecurity and Internet of Things (IoT).

Dr. Pesikan is committed to high-profile applied research and entrepreneurship initiatives funded by Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), ensuring that our students graduate as industry-ready professionals.

He is dedicated to inclusivity and social justice through initiatives like Scholars at Risk to protect scholars internationally and their freedom to think, question, and share ideas, and, to advancing the College’s international presence through leading and supporting global initiatives such as the Software Engineering program at Centennial’s Suzhou Campus in China.

In engineering and research, Dr. Pesikan’s expertise and contributions are widely recognized, shaping the future of medical imaging technology and computational electromagnetics. As Dean, he also brings leading industry partnerships to SETAS, including companies such as IBM, Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Scotiabank, Bell, and Samsung.

As Dean, he looks forward to seeing the School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science continue to thrive this year and into the future.
