Time management

As a student RN, I manage three roles, first as a mother, second as a Nurse (RPN), and thirdly as a student.

This is so challenging but also exciting. These three demanding parts of my life require proper planning of my time, with all the school work, family demands, and my job. I still struggle with my time management skill

My first semester has not been easy as I’m just trying to transition into becoming an RN student. One peer-reviewed article that has been especially helpful in guiding my transition is the Chick and Meleis Transition theory, The dynamic and multifaceted character of transitions is emphasized by the theory. Transitions are characterized as times of change that involve shifting from one state to another, sometimes requiring adjustment to novel situations. A thorough framework for comprehending the complex process of transition in nursing is provided by Chick and Meleis’ Transition Theory. It highlights that transitions involve more than the event itself; they also involve the person’s experience, relationships with others, and surroundings. The notion promotes holistic care that helps patients and clients’ adjustment and well-being by encouraging nurses to consider these elements when dealing with patients and clients going through transitions.
