Program Information

Credential

Upon completion of this program you will be awarded with an Ontario College Advanced Diploma.

Program Description

Game – Development (in-person) and Game – Development (online – asynchronous) are three-year advanced diploma programs that aim to develop expert game designers who are able to create and develop their own titles. These programs will prepare you to become technically literate with the ability to advance the conceptual and cultural potential of games.

By concentrating on the practical applications of the game production process from the artistic, managerial and technical sides, the program will introduce you to 2D and 3D design processes and foundations of computer programming. You’ll also learn to effectively communicate with teams of artists and programmers to design, prototype and iterate their own fully playable 2D and 3D games, and gain other professional and personal skills for success in the industry.

Game – Development (online – asynchronous) has scheduled weekly drop-in sessions for live support from the faculty for each course. They are not mandatory but are highly recommended to attend. Through these sessions we hope that students can clarify any technical topics. Faculty use either Discord or Zoom platform for these sessions and will share the details in the course shell.
