This game is inspired by Prof. Nick Proctor’s (Simpson College) game Making history: The breakup, which is one of the micro-games in the Reacting to the Past collection of immersive, role-playing games. I am grateful to Nick for his guidance as I adapted his game for use by academic librarians in teaching information literacy. I would also like to thank Prof. Aaron Cowan (Slippery Rock University) for sharing the resources for his digital adaptation of Making history: The breakup.

Donna Sherman, Special Collections Librarian (Maps), University of Manchester, was very helpful in identifying both household locations as well as maps that each group could consult and annotate.

Finally, I would also like to thank the following individuals for their advice and support for the historical research and design for this game:

  • Aleksandra Bennett, Professor Emerita of History
  • Ian Bufton, Carleton University alumnus
  • Frances Montgomery, retired academic librarian, Carleton University
  • Marc Saurette, Professor History, Carleton University and the students of HIST 5906W / DIGH 5902C- Historical Game Studies (Winter 2024)
  • Christine Taylor, retired library technician, Carleton University
  • Ryan Tucci, Journalism and Communications Librarian, Carleton University
  • Donna Sherman, Special Collections Librarian (Maps), University of Manchester
  • Mike Kelly, Radio Amateurs of Canada

Funding for graphic design was provided by the Carleton University Students as Partners Program and the Digital Pedagogy Project (Carleton University). The Carleton University Library provided funding for the programming of this game.
