This open text book has been designed to support the OTA/PTA Fundamentals of Human Kinetics Course.
In this course we will address the following Learning Outcomes:
- Identify and use appropriate terminology
pertinent to kinesiology - Describe the anatomical position of the human
body - Describe the basic structure and function of bones, muscles, joints and neurological control as
they relate to human movement/therapeutic exercise through a regional anatomical approach. - Describe how the body is divided into
segments/regions - Describe how human movement occurs in the
body planes and apply basic knowledge of levers, gait and activity/exercise/ strengthening principles to the scope of practice of an occupational therapist assistant and physiotherapist assistant.
