Labs & Equipment

Lab Class Punctuality:

Students will arrive to either fitness labs in the Athletic and Wellness Centre (AWC) or computer labs no later than 5 minutes after the beginning of class.  Late arrivals will result in removal from lab.

Lab Class Uniform and Video Requirements

Standard uniforms are required for the fitness labs. You will be required to purchase a program lab t-shirt and lab kit. Both are available at the Progress Campus Bookstore. All other items may be selected from your existing wardrobe or purchased elsewhere (as long as they meet the standards). Please make sure you are equipped with your lab kit for your third scheduled lab in each course. It is possible that select labs will be completed on Zoom/virtually. Lab t-shirts are not required for virtual labs.

The course professor has discretion to omit you from lab activities if your uniform does not meet to the following standards:

Face-to-face/In-person:

  • FTHP Lab Kit
  • FTHP Lab T-shirt *purchase at the Progress Campus bookstore
  • Clean, reliable running shoes tightly tied
  • Athletic shorts of respectable length (professor discretion), sweatpants or athletic pants (no holes), athletic compression pants or yoga pants
  • Virtual or tangible myCard
  • No bags or backpacks

Software

Students have access to industry-leading software packages and bundles that can be found in rooms, labs, and podiums across our campuses. Computers at each campus will be loaded with the applications for use in your courses. To access these features, you must log in to the network using your student number. You can see a comprehensive list of software and software packages installed by room and by campus here.

Digital Resources

Digital resources will be discusses by faculty on a course-by-course basis.

Library Collections

Instructors may make course readings available online through the eReserves service in eCentennial or as physical items that can be borrowed from a campus library on short-term loan. If your instructor is using eReserves, you will see a module in the course content on eCentennial. The list may include links to library resources like databases, articles, and eBooks; book chapters; web links; and open educational resources. Check your course outline or contact your instructor for information about where your assigned course readings are located.
