About the Author

Larissa Conley, MA, OCELT

CONESTOGA COLLEGE

Larissa is a professor in the English Language Studies/English for Academic Studies program at Conestoga College in Ontario. For over 20 years she has been teaching Academic English at the postsecondary level, most recently focusing on teaching listening, speaking and pronunciation to low-level learners. Her passion for creating accessible learning material led her to co-found Extra English Practice, and co-author Listening Strategies for Success. After identifying a gap in academic-focused listening material for beginning learners, she created this resource with the support of the Conestoga Language Institute’s leadership team.
