12 Academic Integrity

Students who are writing accommodated assessments through the Queen’s University Central Exams Office (e.g., the same assessment as non-accommodated students but at a different time or on a different date) are required to sign a declaration to uphold academic integrity. The declaration states the following:

“In recognition of the fact that special arrangements have been made by the Examinations Office to permit the writing of this examination at a special time, I hereby certify that I will not communicate or act in any way to reveal the content of the questions on the examination paper for the course specified above. I am aware that I may not discuss any part of this exam with anyone other than the instructor (or designate) once I have written it, and that any information shared with another student in relation to the content of the exam could be considered as facilitation and may lead to an investigation into a possible departure from academic integrity.”

You may wish to include a similar declaration for students in your course if you are facilitating the exam. You may also consider having all students in your class, whether they have an accommodation or not, sign a similar declaration before their written assessments (e.g., such as tests or exams).
