4 Studying Tips – Learning Strategies

When you are studying for a final exam, you need to understand your learning style.

There are four learning styles:

  • Visual
  • Auditory
  • Read/Write
  • Kinesthetic

 

Visual Auditory Read/Write Kinesthetic
Visual learners require visual representations when it comes to learning.

 

Some visual representations that visual learners could use include, but not limited to:

  • Graphic organizers
  • Diagrams
  • Graphs
  • Drawings
Auditory learners require auditorial stimuli to help with their studying.

 

Some auditorial strategies that auditory learners could use include, but not limited to:

  • Voice recordings
  • Discussions with peers
  • Dialogues
  • Presentations
As the name suggests, the read and write learners enjoys anything that involves reading words and writing it out. This is a very common learning style that most students go to.

Some read/write strategies that read/write learners could use include, but not limited to:

  • Reading the textbook
  • Reading Powerpoint slides
  • Copying and writing notes based on textbook
  • Highlighting key points from textbooks
Kinesthetic learners require manipulation and hands on experience to help with their learning.

Some kinesthetic strategies that kinesthetic learners could use include, but not limited to:

  • Demonstration
  • Experiments
  • Presentions
