This comprehensive resource is designed to assist faculty in providing an effective simulation experience and a safe learning environment for students. The toolkit is underpinned by standards of simulation best practice to ensure students receive high-quality simulation experiences, fostering confidence and competence in real-world scenarios.

This Pressbook includes a variety of multimedia and is therefore best viewed using the online Pressbooks format.

The book can also be downloaded in a pdf format.

Disclaimer:

Throughout this Pressbook, we strive to maintain consistency in terminology, aiming to enhance clarity and facilitate understanding. The term “facilitator” is employed broadly to encompass a range of roles, such as faculty members and simulation lab technologists.

The term “participants” and “learners” are used throughout to refer to all individuals involved in the simulations, encompassing both learners who are actively engage in the simulation and observers who are present to witness the simulation process. This inclusive approach ensures comprehensive coverage across various simulation scenarios and contexts.

Please note that simulation practices may evolve over time in our nursing and PSW programs. We recommend staying connected with your course coordinators and lab leads to ensure alignment with the most up-to-date planning around simulation methodologies.
