No matter what path you’re coming from and heading toward, as you move on to postsecondary education, change is coming your way. There are many times in life when people face enormous change. How do you do that and overcome feelings of uneasiness and powerlessness?

Many things will change as you embark on your education: your schedule, your level of responsibility, your finances and financial responsibility, your workload, the amount of time you can spend with friends and family and a multitude of other things. Take a look at What to Expect During First Year (1).

Not all students will have the same stressors, but there is a common theme of change for everyone. You aren’t alone in this new reality, but it is important to take control and find the support you need. By reading this online book, you are taking control of your actions. This will hopefully help you feel more prepared to embrace any upcoming changes in your life, including your education at Seneca Polytechnic.
