24 Video Meetings

Some of your courses may employ virtual conferencing or collaboration platforms for the class session. Others may be completely in-person courses but expect you to communicate with peers outside of class time. Especially since the start of the COVID pandemic in 2019, there has been an increase in the knowledge students are required to have about interacting in video meetings.

The platform used (Zoom, Teams, Skype, etc.) does not matter as much as basic video etiquette does.

Hopefully, none of these embarrassing moments will happen to you during your calls, but barring any issues of improper attire, let’s consider some of the basics.

Video Meeting Tips. Wear appropriate clothing. Find a quiet area & proper background. Be punctual. Adjust your camera angle & lighting. Keep your camera on. Participate fully & actively. Know how to use the tool. Join the right meeting.
