2.4 Conclusion

We know that this chapter has introduced some very heavy subject matter. Recognizing how epistemic injustices manifest is important, but it can also leave us feeling overwhelmed or unsure about what to do next. The rest of this resource offers tools and strategies to help you respond to these injustices within your own academic life and work.

In Chapter 3, we’ll introduce the concept of knowledge justice, a way of thinking that helps us work toward more equitable and inclusive approaches to knowledge. Chapter 4 then explores practical ways to find and amplify the voices that have been missing or excluded from our education, scholarly literature, and social media spaces.
