19 The schedule

What to do

Schedule the rehearsals and the final filming.

How to do it

It is important to minimize the number of filming days, ideally completing the shoot in one or two days, depending on the complexity of the simulation scenario. Therefore, extensive rehearsals should be conducted to ensure that the actual filming day proceeds efficiently and that scenes do not need to be repeatedly shot. This approach will save time for the actors and filming crew, as well as reduce the production costs.  It is recommended that the following rehearsal sessions be scheduled prior to the day of filming:

The time required for each session will depend on the length and complexity of the script, as well as the experience of the actors. Here is an estimation of the time needed for the different sessions for a script that has between 10 and 12 decision points (DP):

If the filming day needs to be split into multiple days, it is important to ensure that the actors wear the same outfits and hairstyle on each day of filming. Additionally, any other physical features of the actors should remain consistent. To accomplish this, it is recommended to take pictures of the actors on the first day of filming to use as a reference for subsequent days.

If filming cannot be completed in a single day, it is also advisable to schedule the remaining filming days consecutively. This will help to minimize any variations in the actors’ physical appearance and the surrounding environment.
