My SMART Goals
Emma Gordon
Goal 1: I want to achieve an 80% average to get on the Dean’s list by studying for about 30 minutes a day from Monday to Friday on my classes for the remainder of my degree so I can graduate with an A average. This is something that is very important to me since my ultimate academic goal is to be accepted to medical school and by achieving an 80% or above average will greatly improve my chances of acceptance. This is a practice I have already begun putting into practice and the results have already started to show!
Goal 2: I want to improve my cardiovascular health by being able to run 5km by the end of the school year. I will work towards this goal by going to the gym 3 times a week, except for during the holiday season when I am at home, and track my progress using the running app that I have been working through. I used to run 5km races for charity and it was very rewarding and this is something that I would love to be able to do once again.
Goal 3: I want to write a memoir before I graduate from my undergraduate degree. I have three years of daily entries from when my sister was sick and I want to work on this for 1 hour a week putting together a book so that other people going through these types of situations feel seen. I will start by converting my journal entries into chapters and then I will consult one of my friends who has also written a memoir after her life experiences to learn more about the publishing process.
