Welcome from the Dean

Dear School of Advancement Students

By now you are aware that this fall the college re- open for in-class teaching for a limited number of programs depending on Toronto Public Health and the Province of Ontario regulations. However, the School of Advancement will continue with online teaching for fall 2021 for all our programs.

For our Liberal Arts program we are not able to host in-class sessions as there is limited capacity at the Morningside Campus. Our English for Academic Purposes, Pre-Health, Literacy and Basic Skills programs delivered at our Ashtonbee campus are online as the Ashtonbee office is undergoing a long overdue renovation which will be completed in late November. For our English Language Learning program, our teaching spaces in the T Block have not been refurbished to meet our security and health standards, nor are they able to meet social distancing requirements.

I know this is a great disappointment to many of you who want to return to in-class instruction on campus. We are working diligently to make this happen for winter 2022.

For all of us: faculty, student, administrative and support staff this has been a very difficult and trying time as we pivoted from in-class to online learning and working starting in March 2020.

I am so proud of our academic team who have continued to provide outstanding education services to you – our students.

While this will be not be a semester which you may have anticipated or hoped for, let me assure you that myself, faculty, staff and chairs are all dedicated to your success. We are available by email at any time to support your success in your programs and courses.
