Use this Chapter to describe your current leadership vision.

My current leadership vision is to be a leader who empowers others to grow and achieve, creating an environment where people feel included, aligned, and motivated to contribute. I see leadership as more about facilitating the team’s success rather than directing every decision. My goal is to be someone my team can trust and look to for guidance without necessarily being the most skilled in every area.
My leadership vision has shifted significantly since my previous reflections in 1LD0 and 2LD0. Initially, I believed that to lead effectively, one had to be the best at the task at hand. I saw leaders as people with undeniable expertise, and I admired figures who were at the top of their fields, like Kobe Bryant or Malcolm X. My recent experiences have challenged this belief and broadened my perspective. For example, in my internship in sales and trading at CIBC Capital Markets, I was often in situations where I wasn’t the most knowledgeable person in the room. I worked alongside seasoned professionals who had years of market experience, which felt intimidating. However, I realized that I could contribute in other ways, like facilitating team collaboration during fast-paced market hours or quickly communicating changes and opportunities. My strength in interpersonal skills allowed me to bring value even when I wasn’t the expert, which reinforced that leadership can be about guiding and supporting others rather than just expertise.
