The research contained in this volume is the final product of a course on adornment and the body offered at Brock University in the winter of 2025. The course included undergraduate and graduate students who first presented their research orally and then produced a series of drafts for review. The schedule was rigorous: I am grateful to everyone for meeting the deadlines on time and their willingness to discuss everything from content and copyright to title conventions and heading formats! I also want to thank the student researchers for their helpful oral and written feedback to their peers and their willingness to think carefully about and integrate feedback into their own chapters. I am also grateful to the graduate students who helped with the final editing, cross-checking, and verifying links . The end result attests to the strength of collaborating with a team. It was indeed a pleasure to work with such a diligent group of student researchers. Thanks for your enthusiasm, dedication, and patience!
I’d also like to thank Giulia Forsythe and Stuart McCulley from the Centre for Pedagogy and Innovation at Brock University for technical support and guidance. Thanks is also due to Miranda King, a recent graduate of the MA program in Classics, for helping with the final formatting as well as the design and adoption of the book cover.
