Sources of data

The findings presented within this report derive primarily from three main sources:

  1. Interviews conducted with stakeholders as part of this research
  2. Student grades data spanning four academic years (2013/2014-2016/2017), obtained from the Registrar’s Office
  3. Student grades data from an experimental setup, obtained from the Registrar’s Office

We would be remiss, however, if we were not to include a multitude of other artifacts associated with the eText/IPM initiative that have been generated over its long history. These secondary sources include:

  • Satisfaction surveys
  • Video-recorded town halls
  • Meeting minutes
  • Focus groups
  • Student course feedback survey data
  • Other reports

The secondary sources give valuable insight into the status, perceptions, and context of the project at various points both in its history and in its current state and will be integrated, where possible, to give a more complete picture of Algonquin College’s eText/IPM initiative.
