The CYC Program 1245 is an Asynchronous program, with most courses students learn on their own.  Course content is opened in Luminate on Monday morning, and students have the week to complete the course activities, discussions, readings and watching videos.  When students are participating in second and third year IN-PERSON field placement, the corequisite course Reflective Practice will be taught Synchronously, meaning, students will see this two-hour course on their timetable and they will be expected to attend virtually each week with their cameras and microphones on and working.  The Reflective Practice courses in second and third year are highly participatory, where students share experiences from the field, provide feedback, support and suggestions for the work that students do in the field.  Clinical Engagement and participation are a huge component of the success of the course.  Students need to attend each week, and be prepared to be interactive with their classmates.  

Centennial Luminate

All courses at Centennial have an online learning environment on Centennial Luminate, the College’s learning management system. Through Luminate you can access course documentation and class assignments, monitor grades, and actively communicate and collaborate with professors and other students. Online courses and online components of hybrid courses will be delivered through Luminate. You may need to write online tests and submit assignments via Luminate.
